7/16/15 – Thul is a solid 5-foot-11, 195 pound third baseman and is a legitimate offensive prospect. He ran a 7.38 in the 60-yard dash but was impressive with the stick. He hits from an open stance and is knee-to-knee on his stride and powerful load. He shows an explosive lower half and the ball jumps off of his barrel. He is occasionally uphill on pitches up in the zone but is level and keeps to a line drive swing plane at pitches middle and down. He has long extension and a high finish through. He has some big pull side pop and a gap-to-gap approach. He is also a solid defender with good arm strength. He has a good glove and plays with high energy.
