Uncommitted. Long, lanky frame at 6-foot-3 170-pounds. Fastball was consistently 85-87 with some arm side run. Flashed two different breaking balls - a true 11/5 curveball at 69-70 and a later, smaller slider at 74-78. Worked primarily out of the stretch, showcased a long, loose arm aciton from a high- slot. Fastball showed some late life and slider shows true swing-and-miss potential and an out pitch at next level. Went pitch-for-pitch with one of the state’s top hurlers, Ryan Ramsey - for 4+ innings. Final line: 4+ IP, 5 H, 2K, 3 BB, 2 HBP.

Deer has a wiry and athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. Starts from the stretch, with his feet slightly closed. Throws with rhythm and repeatable tempo. Long, loose, clean arm action. Low 3/4 arm slot. Engages his backside early and rides it down the mound. Strong brace leg. Throws with conviction. Fastball sat 84-85 MPH and topped at 85 MPH. FB showed late life in the zone. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with occasional late bite at the bottom of the zone at 67-70 MPH. Changeup had both run and fade at 74-75 MPH.

Deer stands at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Possesses a real wiry and athletic frame. On the mound, throws strictly from the stretch. Stands tall with his feet even. Stride direction stays in line. Hands stay locked during high leg kick. Maintains rhythm and tempo throughout. Engages lower half efficiently. Creates good angle between upper and lower half. Long, loose, clean arm action. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball topped at 85 MPH, one of the tops at the event, while sitting at 83-84 MPH. Located to both sides of the plate. Curveball showed big 11/5 shape at 64-66 MPH. Changeup showed late run at 71-72 MPH. Slider had sharp downer action at 72-73 MPH, got swings and misses out of the zone.
