O'Brien has a lean, athletic build at 6-feet 170-pounds. Topped at 86 mph, sat mostly 82-84. Flashed a curveball at 69-70 with 11/5 depth for strikes and a solid changeup at 75-76 with some armside fade. Showcased a hard slider at 75-78 mph with a smaller break. Slow, methodical delivery - athletic balance point using lower half to drive down the mound. Long arm action from a high-3/4 slot, level shoulders going down the mound. Slight arm wrap on hand break. Commanded bottom half of the strike zone well, especially with offspeed.
