2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Lowery has a lean, athletic build at 5-foot-10 178-pounds. Ran the 60-yard dash in 6.86-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 87 MPH. One of the top performers from the event. Offensively – starts in a wide stance and in a crouch with hands above back shoulder to start. Uses a foot lift and stride to start swing. Hand load is minimal and hands wrap the bat around the head. Short, quick stroke through the zone, creates some lift to finish. Line drive type hitter. Defensively – stood out with footwork and glovework over the course of the two days. Throws topped at 81 MPH from a short, quick arm action and 3/4 slot. Moves well laterally and glove exchange is quick and easy. Able to throw from multiple different slots with accuracy. Turned several double plays during gameplay which made him stand out even more. Excellent athlete with a great glove.
