Strong, athletic frame at 6-foot, 175-pounds. The lefty sets up in the middle of the rubber with his feet offset. Maintains rhythm and tempo. Brings his hands to his midsection and keeps them locked there until he reaches his balance point. Downhill shoulder tilt. Maintains his stride direction. Creates some rotational torque. Clean movements. Long, loose, easy arm. High arm slot, nearly OTT. Creates some downhill plane on his FB, which was 81-82 MPH, touching 83 MPH. Bigger CB with late downer tilt and 1/7 shape at 64-66 MPH.
2/15/21
6-foot-0, 175lb athletic frame. Owens engages the lower half nicely on his way down the mound. Uses a slow tempo down the slope and hits his front foot and explodes into the landing. Snaps the upper half down into the throw to create more velocity. Uses a high 3/4 slot with exceptional arm speed through the release. Holds the fastball 79-80 MPH while topping at 81 MPH with command of the zone to the glove side nicely. Shows the ability to be a high level velo arm as he continues to progress with mechanics.Flashed a 64-66 MPH curveball that drops into the zone nicely just as it approaches the plate. Throws the curveball with a lot of feel for it. The changeup comes in at 72-75 MPH with developing feel for the pitch. Has the ability to be an exceptional pitch further down the road.
