2018 New Jersey State Games (7.24.18)
Ring has a lanky, athletic build at 5-foot-10 155-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.22-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH. At the plate, starts in a slightly opened stance with weight visibly on back side and bat rested on back shoulder, parallel to the ground. As the pitch comes in, Ring uses a leg kick to start swing and a stride. Level bat path through the zone and finishes tall with some lift. Line drive hitter with more in the tank as he continues to add strength to his frame. Defensively, Ring took reps from Shortstop. Throws topped at 81 MPH across the diamond from a high-¾ slot and short arm action. Throws were firm with carry across the diamond. Exchange is clean and quick.
2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Ring has a lanky, athletic build at 5-foot-10 155-pounds. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.16-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPHOffensively – starts in a slightly opened stance and in a crouch with weight on back side and bat rested on back shoulder. Uses a leg kick and stride to start swing. Hands stay mostly stagnant throughout load process. Uphill swing with extension in hands creates some feel for the barrel. Defensively – throws from SS topped at 76 MPH. High-3/4 slot with long arm action. Fields ball out in front of body and plays through throws to 1B. Able to throw from different slots. Smooth, effortless movements going side to side.

Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Ring has a lanky, athletic build at 5-foot-10 155-pounds. Ran a 7.19 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts with a wide stance and slight crouch with hands close to back ear. Initiates swing with a small leg kick. Hands load back fluidly. Creates lift on finish. Recorded an Exit Velocity of 84Defensively- topped at 76 mph across the infield from SS. Short arm action from a high-3/4 slot. Throws had some backspin and carry. Footwork and fundamentals are sound, just a touch slow. Pitching- fastball topped at 80 mph, sat mostly 78-79 mph. Breaking ball had 11/5 shape at 70-71 and flashed a changeup with armside sink at 68-69. Slow, methodical delivery. Tall balance point, jumps out to home plate. Can get more velocity if he can use his legs/back side to drive down the mound as opposed to jumping down the mound. Short arm circle, whippy on finish from an over-the-top slot.   Ring is still very much growing and gaining muscle to his lanky frame. Look for him to make a jump later on in the spring and summer as he continues to get reps.

Last Chance Open I.D. Showcase (November 5th, 2016)

Ring has a long, wiry build at 5-foot-10 150-pounds. No. 41 ranked 2019. Offensively- starts in a crouch with wide feet and hands/bat rested on back shoulder. Uses a foot stride to start swing, hands load up and back simultaneously. Shows some elasticity in hips in finish. Swing is somewhat long, but has shown that he can get the barrel on velocity. Recorded an Exit Velocity of 80, an improvement from last June. Defensively- footwork is sound and shows athletic movements. Short, stabby arm action on throws that topped at 75 mph across the diamond. Able to throw from multiple arm slots.

Underclass Games (September 18, 2016)

Ring has a wiry athletic build at 5-foot-10 150-pounds. Offensively- starts in a neutral stance with hands and bat rested on shoulder. Swing is initiated by a toe tap. Hands load to above shoulder, almost in line with ear. Somewhat mechanical in pre-pitch technique, that will clean up as he continues to add strength. Hips are quick, bat and barrel stay through the zone. Finishes on back leg. Line drive hitter with knack for finding barrel. Defensivelysmooth glove-work, is able to break down easy to get to ball in the hole or to gloveside. Arm action is long, but throws are firm.

Futures Preview (6/4/16)
Ring is 5-foot-9 145-pounds, ran his 60 in 7.19. Skinny body, but talent level is projectable, as he will add muscle to his frame. Offensively- Ring starts in an athletic slight crouch and utilizes a leg kick for power. Hand load is fluid, yet small. Slight upper-cut swing, Ring showed feel for the barrel during batting practice. Exit Velocity at 73Fielding- Athletic movements and soft hands, Ring can play 2B, SS, or 3B. Shows good footwork for his age and continues his momentum toward first base on throws. Varies between low-3/4 to high-3/4 arm slots with a long, slinging motion. Clocked at 75 across the diamond. Pitching- Sat at 78-79, touching 81 MPH. Throws from a high-3/4 angle and shows some effort in his delivery. Long arm action, short stride can be increased with added strength in lower body.
