Futures Preview South (June 4th, 2017)
Farole has a strong, athletic 6-foot-1 170-pound build. Ran a 6.82 60 yard dash, which was good for one of the top times of the event. Recorded an exit velocity of 88 MPH. Offensively- starts in a wide, slightly opened stance with his hands below his back shoulder. As pitch comes in, utilizes a small foot stride to start swing. Hands load back minimally. Produces some coil in torso in swing to produce some pop. Level bat through the zone. In the outfield, arm-strength is prevalent. Throws were on a line and on target. Ball jumps out of hand from a high-3/4 slot. On the mound, fastball topped at 80 MPH and sat mostly 79-80 for his outing. Pitches from the stretch from an over-the-top slot. Curveball has 11/5 shape at 65-66 MPH with tight spin, can be used as a strikeout pitch for him. Athletic balance point going down the mound. High front side helps him create some leverage toward the bottom of the strike zone. Strong frame projects well on the mound. More velocity in the tank.
