Starts at the plate in a relaxed and open stance. Knees are slightly bent. Hands begin above shoulder height, away from the body. Creates pre-swing rhythm. Hands go straight back during his load. Slight bat wrap. Utilizes a normal stride. Bat stays on plane with the baseball. Easy bat speed. Explosive lower half, maintains rhythm. Makes consistently strong contact. Defensively, took reps in the infield. Recorded a velo of 83 MPH. Showed an athletic and advanced approach to the baseball. Proper footwork, smooth transfer around his midsection. Long, loose arm action. Throws primarily from a 3/4 slot but will change arm angle when ranging to make a play.

Average sized right handed hitter. Cassella is 6-foot, 155-pounds. He ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. At the primary position of shortstop he had a 71 MPH velocity with carry to first base. Defensively, he has average hands, with fluid fielding motion. Transfer was choppy. Cassella batted from a slightly open and crouched stance with a quick load and stiff follow though. Showed versatility playing at both shortstop and second.
