A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

6-foot-1, 208lb durable frame. The southpaw works down the slope with easy, repeatable tempo. Gets downhill and throws off a firm front side to create good angle toward the plate. Throws from a high 3/4 slot with a short stab out of the glove creating some rigidness in the arm. Held the fastball around 80-83 MPH while topping out at 84 MPH. The working velocity increasing from the last time we had eyes on him is a great thing to see. Worked a 64-68 MPH curveball with two plane action that proves to be a possible swing and miss pitch. Showed off a changeup at 73-77 MPH with some fade to the arm side. Also showed off a cutter at 72-74 MPH that could be another good pitch to keep in the arsenal as he continues to develop it more and gain velocity with it.
