Palumbo has a lean, athletic build at 6-foot 185-pounds. Fastball topped at 83 MPH and sat mostly 79-82 throughout his two innings of work. Curveball showed big 11/5 break at 71-74 with tight spin for strikes. Flashed a 70-72 MPH changeup with armside fade as well. Smooth start to delivery into a tall balance point. Tall/fall type pitch with uphill shoulders going down the mound. Strong, firm front landing leg – creates present hip and shoulder separation on first touch with lead leg. High-3/4 slot with long, loose arm action. Lands square to homeplate with a recoil in arm. More velocity in the tank as he continues to fill out frame, expect Palumbo make a jump this spring. Breaking ball separated him from the rest of the pack at the event. Able to drop it in for strikes and use as a strikeout pitch as well.
