9/20/15 -- McLinskey has a physical build at 6-0, 180 pounds and is a legitimate two-way prospect. He hits from the right side and utilizes a balanced stance with an athletic base. He has a small leg kick and some length in his swing. When he stays inside the ball, he shows above average bat speed and the ability to pull the baseball with power. He keeps good balance throughout his swing which allows him to sit on off-speed pitches in game. He is a bit of a "waist-bender" defensively, uses minimal lower half to get down on ground balls. He has potentially plus arm strength from shortstop and makes accurate throws with excellent carry. On the bump, he pitches with good tempo and repeatable, athletic movements. He keeps on-line to his target and pitches with above average arm speed and a high 3/4 arm slot. His command was scattered but he showed some downhill angle to his 83-85(86) mile-per-hour fastball. His breaking ball is 12-to-6 in action with depth and late life at 69-71 MPH. He has a chance to be a very solid two-way player in college.
