Has a long, loose arm action. Creates deception with his over-the-top arm slot. Slight hitch at the top of his delivery helps him mess with hitters’ timing. High leg kick. Strong front leg at foot strike. Uphill shoulder tilt as he comes down the mound. Front side stays high. Feet land slightly closed. From the stretch, starts tall with his feet closed. Maintains the same leg kick in the stretch. Fastball hit 82 MPH and sat 80-82 MPH. Curveball showed true 12/6 shape, showed ability to throw it for strikes at 62-64 MPH. Changeup displayed both run and fade at 65-69 MPH.

Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.50 seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 86 MPH. At the plate, Rumsey starts in a tall stance with hands above back shoulder and feet situated in a neutral position. As pitch comes in, Rumsey uses a leg kick and stride to start swing as hands load straight back with some fluidity. Slight hitch in load process – stiff front leg as hips turn with some fluidness to the ball. Uphill swing, finishes balanced. Defensively – took reps at 3B. Throws topped at 70 MPH across the infield with some backspin and carry. High-3/4 slot with throws, still growing into frame with his footwork. Pitching – fastball topped at 82 MPH and sat mostly 78-80. Flashed a curveball with smaller, tighter 11/5 break at 66-68 MPH. Long, loose arm action from a high-3/4 slot. Creates some downhill leverage with extension over landing leg. Definitely a prospect to keep an eye on.
