Tierney has a lean and athletic build at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.62 seconds and recorded an exit velo of 75 MPH. Starts tall at the plate in a balanced stance. Leg kick is high, yet quick. Hands are high and stay locked in position. Hands stay inside the ball. Stayed on time and hit a bunch of line drives towards the middle of the field. In the outfield, recorded a positional velo of 78 MPH. Starts low and athletic, and stays that way in his approach to the ball. Stays aggressive and plays through the ball, keeping his momentum. On the mound, Tierney starts with his feet across the rubber. Works quick with rhythm and tempo. Long, clean arm action. High 3/4 arm slot. Gets into his backside over the rubber. Even shoulder tilt. Starts with his back leg preset in the stretch. Fastball showed run and sink when down in the zone at 75-76 MPH, touching 77 MPH. Curveball showed big 1/7 shape at 66-67 MPH.
