2019 Preseason All State showcase
Old Dominion recruit. Vaks stands at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Has a strong and athletic frame. Sets up tall on the first base side of the rubber with his feet angled. Consistent rhythm and tempo throughout. Gets over a strong brace leg. Even shoulder tilt. Long, loose arm action. High 3/4 arm slot. Fastball gets on you, had late life. FB sat at 86-87 MPH. Slider was wipeout at times, but sharp in and out of the zone at 74-75 MPH. Changeup had late sink at 79-80 MPH.

Vaks has a lean and athletic build at 6-foot, 160-pounds. On the mound, starts tall with his feet on the first base side of the rubber. Long, loose, clean arm action. 3/4 arm slot. Rides his backside down the mound. Stride direction stays in line. Even shoulder tilt. Works with rhythm and tempo. Creates deception with a slight hitch in his delivery. Hands stay locked in one position until separation. From the stretch, starts tall and closed. Fastball touched 86 MPH and sat 84-85 MPH. FB showed late life. Slider showed 11/5 shape with sharp horizontal tilt at 72-73 MPH. SL displayed swing and miss potential in and out of the zone.
