11/14/18-A developing, 5-foot-10, 145, Alvillar has plenty of growth in front of him. He showed instincts for the position at first base and behind the dish. He picked balls in the dirt and showed solid footwork around the bag. He showed a quick transition to throw at both positions. Presently, he lacks a bit of arm strength behind the plate, but his throws were in line. Alvillar was quick to block and recover and received the ball well. Arm strength strides will likely determine his future position. In the box, he has a consistent middle of the field approach with a touch of length to his steady bat. His swing is managed primarily with upper body rhythm, more lower-half weight transfer might lead to greater future impact.
