AJ is a compact 5-foot-9, 185 pound 3B that ran a 5.01home to 1B and had a 77 MPH exit velocity. Offensively- AJ starts in a an even and balanced stance with hands shoulder height and a 45 degree bat angle. Takes hands back slightly and gains ground on his stride for timing. Foot is a bit late getting down causing hands to lead into the swing. Stays behind the ball and covers the plate well. Some uphill tilt to swing path. Defensively- Showed positive lateral actions and keeps feet active. Squares up with hands out in front. Uses a secondary shuffle to gather himself into his throwing action. Uses a short arm action from a 3/4 slot at 65 MPH with peak velocity. Continued improvement with footwork and arm strength and AJ should develop nicely at 3B.
