Team Citius Workout
Scott stands in at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.50 – 60. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of his back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back into the hitting position. Lower body rotation is efficient getting the whole body involved in the swing, repeats with balance. Shows quick arms to the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel path throughout into a high two handed finish. Som stiffness present; will develop more feel for swing as he matures. Demonstrated line drive and gap ability during batting practice rounds while recording an exit velocity of 78 MPH. Defensively- Good fielding mechanics but could be more aggressive getting to the baseball; tends to sit back and wait for the ball to come to him. Shows a good funnel into the chest with an efficient transition to the throwing hand and proper infielder arm swing. Needs to have more aggressive footwork towards intended throwing target. Moves well left/right and in on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 71 MPH.
