New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
VanBeveren has an extremely athletic build – 6-foot-1, 185 pounds – and it shows when running a 6.90 60 (Had a 6.88 last July). Offensively- Hands just below shoulders, shoulder width athletic stance. Bat tap on shoulder used as a timing mechanism, reaches front toe toward the pitcher to create a nice stride. Nice separation as front foot comes down; 45-degree angle with bat is there as well. Back knee explodes well towards the pitcher and VanBeveren has a high one armed follow through. Has lift through the zone, exit velocity: 83 MPH (5 MPH increase from July 2015). Defensively- Attacks ball clean with good feet. Keeps weight coming forward when throwing and pulls down on the ball nicely with his over the top arm angle, ball carries well. Threw 82 MPH from the OF (+6 MPH jump from July 2015).
Central NY Open (July 15, 2015)
VanBeveren stands at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, with an athletic body build.  Brian ran a 6.88 60-yd dash. Defensively- He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong with lots of carry, plays through the ball nicely and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was at 76 MPHOffensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, long stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging with a little uphill tilt, and has high finish with nice extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 78 MPH.  Brian is a solid player and hitter who shows potential to progress to the next level in college.
