6/27/22

Physical: 6-foot-3, 220 pounds; Sturdy, proportional build. 8.27 runner in the 60.

Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a knee knock leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a compact swing path with a two handed finish.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 71 MPH.

2/23/22

Physical: 6-foot-3, 230 pounds; Sturdy, broad shouldered build.

Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish.  More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 89 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; walks into ready position while sitting back. Hands are soft while staying low during transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 70 MPH.

2/17/21

Physical: Large, XL 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame with strength and durability found throughout. 8.97 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: LHH - The lefty started from a wide, slightly upright position as the hands showed circular rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a deliberate leg lift stride early in ball flight allowing for leverage at the front of the plate through a slight uphill attack; recorded an intriguing 55% line-drive rate while staying behind the baseball well in the approach, some feel for the top hand present and hit into a stiff front side, depositing 81 mph exit speeds throughout the middle of the field. Room for a little more in the lower half, which should keep improving already solid measurables. A 52% on-plane efficiency per Blast Motion points towards developing bat to ball skills offensively.

Defensively: The primary first baseman displayed average footwork, approaching with moderate pace and a medium-high center of gravity, slight bend in the knees as the glove hand funneled into the body, turned in line towards the target and released from a low effort, high ¾ slot with straight up and down posture (64 mph).
