Tall, upright stance with a slightly open setup as the hands started low at the shoulder with some rhythm preload. Utilized a leg kick stride while staying behind the baseball at impact, initiating the hands through a short, flat path and into the hitting zone. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 82 mph per Trackman Baseball. Defensively: The backstop demonstrated adequate receiving skills with a semi-soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.27-2.45 while standing up after receiving out of a low crouch, short straight line footwork towards the target with average transfers and an accurate, high ¾ slot. Feel for blocks on the glove hand side burying the chest downward creating recovery ability. C - 68 mph Pitching: RHP - Started from the left side of the rubber with average, controlled pace in the delivery; side rocker step into a medium leg lift at waist height, solid lower half drive outward towards the target from the backside, landed with good posture while getting over the front side, released out of a high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 70-73 mph with command in the zone, up to 1896 spin per Trackman Baseball, mixed in a sharp 61-63 mph breaker with 11/5 tilt and 2077 rpms. Countered with a low spin 66-68 mph CH that showed occasional arm side fade. Needs a couple more ticks of difference between it and the FB.
