A lean projectable 6-foot-2, 175 pounds. Ran a 7.46 60 yard dash. Offensively- stands in a tall slightly open stance. Uses a small load before attacking the hitting zone. The 2020 graduate increase from the last workout., displayed consistent hard contact during the hitting portion. Balanced throughout the swing. Exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively- aggressive approach to the baseball. Fields the ball in an upright position. Takes his time to gather himself to make a throw. Strong throws across the diamond. Top throwing velocity was 85 MPH. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery during the bullpen session. Drive downhill with intent from a balanced backside. The right handed pitcher has a live arm. Showed plus command of a FB which peaked at 83 MPH. CB has a tight spin and ranged 71-73 MPH. Feel for CH down in the zone at 73-74 MPH.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2018)
At the plate, he uses a relaxed set up, open stance, barrel high around his ear with looseness to his hands. Long stride on the pitch, hands are direct and compact to the ball, short path, some uphill tilt to the barrel path, close to his body extension, 82 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively, attacks the ball from a wide stance, fields the ball deep in this stance to a quick funnel , releases from a high 3/4 slot 77 mph arm strength across the diamond. He also worked out on the mound where he showed 76-78 mph fastball arm strength from sound mechanics.
