NY Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Ferrarese sits in at 6-foot-1; 225 pounds with a big athletic football player frame. Clocked with an 8.70 – 60. Offensively-Sets up square to the pitcher with a wide base and hands slightly above back shoulder. On pitch his trigger is a quiet toe tap forward with his hands moving back slightly into a good hitting position. Has quick hands and a good bat path getting the barrel to the hitting zone with good barrel action to a high two handed finish. Good lower body rotation through swing. Recorded an Exit Velocity of 90 mph, a 2 mph improvement from February 2016. Defensively-Good approach and good footwork around first base. Tendency to collapse on one knee while fielding. Staying upright and tall throughout the fielding movement would be beneficial. Position Player velocity recorded at 79 mph. Pitching-Quiet mechanics with a mid-stomach knee raise and good arm action. Hides ball well and spots pitches. Pounds the bottom of the zone with his Fastball at 83-85 mph and Curveball recorded at 70-72 mph.
Last Chance Preview (November 29, 2015)
Ferrarese stands 6-foot-1, 215-pounds. He ran a 5.40 Home to 1B with an 86 MPH exit velocity. Offensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed, weight shifted on his backside hands away from his body level with his head. Path to the ball is a little long, full extension with a one arm finish, strong kid with bat-strength, needs more balance throughout entire swing. Defensively- Dino plays the corner positions, good size  with a wide base, fields the ball deep in his stance, clean transfer, with a short, quick arm action from a mid - 3 / 4 arm slot. Strong physical kid to keep an eye on. 80 MPH across the diamond.
