9/19/20

Physical: Lengthy / projectable 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with a high waisted build and athleticism in the movements. 7.44 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Tall, upright stance from an even setup, the hands showed rhythm above the shoulder. Featured control throughout the timing mechanism using a leg lift stride to initiate the hands through a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased high level swing mechanics with ability to match pitch plane early and often and jolt the hands through impact and towards extension with regularity. Athletic and adjustable lower half created natural lift on pitches in any quadrant, got down and through the low pitch at the knees, notched an impressive 46% line drive rate during his round per Trackman Baseball / peak bat-exit velocity of 88 mph. Top batted ball distance of 310 feet displaying the gap to gap prowess he possesses. Defensively: The primary shortstop demonstrated advanced footwork with a quick first step and medium-low center of gravity on the approach, got downhill through the baseball with regularity, beat the ball to the spot and moved smoothly in space. Got the ball over to first base in well under 4.20 seconds averaging around 4.13 on the pace. Accurate, high ¾ slot with some zip across the diamond out of a medium arm circle. INF - 83 mph Pitching: RHP - Started from the middle of the rubber, side rocker step into a medium leg lift with moderate pace throughout, landed athletically getting over the front side on the release through a quick, high ¾ slot with length in the takeaway. The FB peaked at 2133 spin per Trackman Baseball ranging from 82-84 mph with command in the zone. Mixed in a sharp 67-70 mph breaker with tight 11-5 shape and swing and miss projection. Countered with a differently shaped 72-73 mph SL with late disappearing bite across the zone and 2260 spin.
