Physical: 6-foot-1, 147 pounds; Long, lean build. 7.48 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a high finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 81 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while laid back. Hands are underneath the body with a clean transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 65 MPH.
Pitching: Hernandez uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Minimal leg lift with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while stabbing downward, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 71 MPH, while sitting 69-71 MPH; commands both sides. CB: 60-61 MPH; early action. CH: 63-65 MPH; maintains the same plain.
