Evan Plante LHP (Christian Brothers Academy, 2015)
2/15/15 - Plante stands 6-foot-2, 175-pounds with a stronger build. He uses a sidestep, hands start high. He uses good rhythm, faster delivery. Stays strong on his back side, shoulders stay even towards home. Arm action is longer, but free and easy. Throws from high-3/4 slot, fastball sat 80 mph with arm side run. Curveball was 70 mph with 1/7 shape late. Changeup was 72 mph with good hand speed, down action. Still unsigned Plante could help the right program next year, this spring season will be big for him.

Hitting/OF - At the plate he start with a slight open stance, hands high. Strides on the pitch, hands come down to the ball, slightly inclined plane, some extension, finishes around his shoulders. Exit velocity was 80 mph. From the OF he stays behind the ball, catches glove side, uses nice long-clean arm action, throws from an over-the-top slot at 79 mph. He ran a 6.98 60 yard dash showing plus speed for the position.

Plante stands an athletic 6-foot-2 170-pounds with physical upside. On the mound his balance is over the rubber with solid mechanics. Uses a long but clean arm action, high 3/4 slot and a fastball sitting 78-80 mph. His changeup was 65-66 mph slowing his arm some, curveball sat 60-61 with early 1/6 shape out of his hand. He needs to keep his front side closed longer and finish more over his front side with extension.
