Kenney-McGowan stands 6-foot-4, 220-pounds with an ideal body frame. Pitching- From the mound he uses a balanced delivery, slight hip turn for torque with shoulders rotating towards third-base. Knee-lift is above the belt-line, hands are shoulder high before separation. Drops and drives hard on his back leg, lifted firm front arm, arm-action is slightly down and clean, releases from a mid-to-high 3/4 slot (appears over-the-top live because of his upper body tilt towards first-base). Upper half leans hard towards first-base creating some arm-side leak to his fastball. He sat 79-81 MPH with late depth and run. Curveball was 62-64 with proper spin, 12-to-6 action . Overall, Kenney-McGowan is a few ticks away on the fastball from turning a lot of heads, off-season training will be highly important for the Long Island prospect. Offensively- Uses a wide stance with weight slightly shifted over his front side, hands start loose and high before the pitch. Back load on the pitch with his weight shifting back with a leg-lift for timing, uses a long stride and hips really slide forward. Creates above average bat-speed from a short path, some lift to his bat-plane with full one-arm extension (exit velocity was 88 MPH). Defensively- Active lower half with premium size at the hot-corner. Soft hands with a clean transfer, solid strong arm-strength at 80 MPH. Look for McGowan to land an opportunity to play at the next-level soon.
