Cape Cod- Holliday coached Crowley last summer in the Texas Collegiate League and liked what he saw, as the big lefty worked at 93-94 and touched 95 for the Tulsa Drillers. He showed a bit less velocity in the cold weather during his spring season at Fordham, but Holliday said he was 91-94 and bumped 95 for Chatham this summer. If he can learn to use his legs better in his high three-quarters delivery, he could become a durable starter, because he has the build at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds. He also did a good job pounding the zone and missing bats this summer, posting a 39-10 K-BB mark in 26.1 IP. Crowley complements his fastball with a cutter/slider and a slower slurve, and he throws both of them for strikes, along with a pretty good changeup. Crowley will transfer to Texas Tech for his fourth season and looks like an intriguing breakout candidate.
