8/30/13 - Started for the Northeast Mets and pitched three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks. He is listed at 6-feet, 170 pounds and has projection remaining with broad shoulders and a tapered waist. He sat 88-89 mph early and touched 90-91. He had a low-80s changeup with sink as well as a curveball that ranged from 73-76. It showed good spin and potential when 75-76. Abreu looks like more of a thrower right now and doesn’t always repeat his delivery, but he has a solid arsenal that could take a step forward with refinement. He was around the zone, but lacked command. He is currently uncommitted, but there was some buzz that he may be making a decision soon. He comes from the same high school that produced Manny Ramirez as well as current minor leaguers Mike Antonio (Royals), Nelson Rodriguez (Indians) and Fernelys Sanchez (Braves).
