Bilcik is an athletic framed 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Bilcik ran a 8.17 60. Pitching - Sets up middle rubber with mid leg kick. Unique throwing motion with a draw back to a short-armed arm action; consistent through all pitch types. Arm motion and natural hiding of ball through delivery makes it difficult for hitters to track. His fastball touched 80 MPH (up one mph) with arm side run. Curveball ranged from 63-66 MPH with sharp 12-6 break down in the zone. Change up ranged from 72-73 MPH with downward movement. Deceptive delivery and his sneaky delivery along with solid command will give him opportunities down the road.
Mass. Unsigned Senior Games (August 8, 2017)
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. The fastball touched 79 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big, needs more fastball hand speed to it, sat at 60 mph. The changeup shows promise, sat at 71 mph. Pitches out of a higher than ¾ slot, athletic lift and open the bottom half as he makes his way into foot strike. Needs to stay closed longer on the bottom half, so the top half can stay closed as well. The delivery is rotational so the tracking needs to improve as he matures. The arm works clean out front, small pause on the backside of the arm path. 1.84 to the plate in the stretch out of a full leg lift.
Campus Series-Marist (July 25, 2017)
Bilcik checks in at 6-foot-0, 172-pounds with a strong athletic frame. Pitching- Righty gets good separation with a good lower body drive down the mound. Features a high ¾ release point with a strong follow through. Has short, loose arm action and is consistent in the strike zone. Fastball range was 76-78 MPH and peaked at 80 MPH with arm side run. Curveball range was 60-61 MPH with 12/6 spin and was consistent in the strike zone. Will benefit from developed strength. Overall a talented 2018 prospect that is still available.
