Physical: Even proportioned, athletic 5-foot-10, 175lb frame. 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, bent stance as the hands operated in rhythm by the head. Utilized a leg lift stride to initiate the barrel through a flat, direct path into the hitting zone. Drove the lower half into a stiff front side, leading the swing and setting good direction at the plate. Notched a middle of the field, gap to gap approach with solid bat to ball skills, maintaining consistent backspin that carried for distance (73% fly ball rate, near 350 foot batted ball via Trackman). High-level rotational power and produced efficient results during batting practice.
Defensively: The primary backstop worked from a comfortable, left-knee down stance as the glove hand received quietly and softly at the catch. Pop times ranged from 2.07-2.12 with powerful, directional footwork to the target. Stayed low in the posture, firing from the glutes and transferring energy down through the throw (77 mph arm, able to control the run game). Buried blocks, moving like a cat with down angles to either side.
Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Works off a short quiet load and displayed quick hands into the hitting zone. Low effort hitting action. Displayed hard consistent contact to the pull side. Defensively- the outfielder displayed a live arm during throws in the defensive portion of the workout. Waits back for the baseball. Above average exchange to a quick release from a high 3/4 arm slot. Top throwing velocity from the outfield was 82 MPH. As a catcher, the the 2022 graduate displayed active footwork. Above average exchange to a quick release from a high 3/4 arm slot. Displayed arm strength during the defensive portion. The 2022 graduate is a must follow.
