An imposing figure on the mound at 6'3 220lbs. Bonilla starts with a side step to a high knee lift with counter-rotation. Uses tall to fall method. Leads well with hip. Long loose free arm action, with plus hand speed. Mid 3/4 arm slot, late life on fastball. Finish over his front front, departs clean from the rubber. Bonilla was very tough on the 5 hitters he faced live, with his fastball sitting 83-84 MPH, and a hard 12/6 curve with late break that he was able to throw for strikes. Ball seemed to jump out of his hand.
