7/30/19

A long lean projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 163 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter displayed hard consistent contact during batting practice. Stands in the box with a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Quick direct path to the baseball. Gets full extension after point of contact. Finishes in an upright position. Defensively- the C displayed active footwork. Receives the ball well. Smooth exchange and quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Throws are accurate to the bag.

7/25/18

Long and lean frame at 6-foot-2 157 pounds; right-handed hitting catcher ran a 4.59 home-to-1B. Offensively- Upright stance with barrel tipped up the 3B line; up-down stride with a flat barrel path through the zone. Short, compact swing with a two-handed finish. Line drives to his pull side and middle of the field. Raw exit velocity off the tee peaked at 77 MPH. Increased physical strength will allow him to reach his full power potential. Defensively- Behind the plate he sets up with feet shoulder width, slightly elevated, exchange is clean and he's able to stay on line throws when his front foot makes it all the way around. Staying lower and being more explosive out of the chute will lower his pop range of 2.38-2.41. Arm strength was up 7 MPH from last August to 70 MPH.

8/15/17

Schoenbardt stands 6-foot-1, 153-pounds with a frame to hold plenty more weight.  Offensively- Even setup with stance, hands extended and very high on the setup before the pitch, dives some over the plate as hands get back to the zone. Barrel slightly moves uphill, longer path to the ball, some power potential in swing. Exit velocity was 71 MPH. Defensively- Behind the plate receives from a wide base, average release with pop times range from 2.37-2.43; 62 MPH arm-strength to the bag.
