A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Large, projectable 6-foot-3, 200lb frame. 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, even stance with the hands operating in tight, circular rhythm at the shoulder; utilized a toe tap stride, getting to a wide attack position to launch through a slightly uphill, violent path into the zone. Produced plenty of bat-speed, driving the ball with authority to the middle of the field for distance (50% fly ball rate, 344 foot batted ball via Trackman). Some middle of the order characteristics with good sequencing available in the swing; worked up to a T89 mph bat-exit velocity.
Defensively: The outfielder had the chest working downhill, leading the way over the toes with an accurate glove hand. Funneled cleanly to the waist line, exchanging towards a lengthy takeaway at a H ¾ slot on the front-side (good extension, 77 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - Showed some hip coil at the top of the stack, repeating in the delivery and releasing from a higher H ¾ slot with good reach down to the glove. The FB ranged from 76-79 mph, filling up the strike zone often and mixed in a sweeping 68-70 mph SL across the dish. Added a commanded, fading 69-71 mph CH with a feel for three pitches.
3/28/21
Pitching: Short side step before driving the knee up above the belt while coiling the hip, gets into back side as glides down and out in line finishing with intent to a flat back follow through; Long arm action going down and back before working through a natural 3/4 slot. FB: Has advanced ride (23" induced vertical) through the top of the zone. SL: Tends to back up with up to 10" of horizontal break. CH: Good hand speed while killing the spin and getting up to 14" arm side fade.

2/19/21
Physical: Projectable 6-foot-3, 200 lb frame.
Offensively: Upright stance with feet wide and even while hands start up in front of the back shoulder; toe tap stride while the hands load down and back to a strong launch position; strong effort from the lower half hitting into a stiff front side; the barrel is quick with a flat path through the zone yielding consistent hard line drive through the middle of the field. 89 MPH peak exit velo.
Defensively: Athletic footwork with a quality first step, plays downhill through the ball fielding on the outside of the left foot, seamless transfers to a long arm swing through a natural 3/4 release. OF: 83 MPH
2/22/19
A projectable 6-foot-2, 185 pounds frame. Ran a 7.84 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Short load before attacking the baseball. Flat bat path through the hitting zone. Could get more extension after the point of contact. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Top exit velocity 74 MPH. Defensively- the 1B displayed solid infield actions. Gets in a low base when fielding the baseball. Above average exchange to a quick release on throws across the infield. Top infield velocity was 74 MPH. Pitching- the right handed pitcher is a projectable arm. Keeps the front side close, high knee lift, and drives downhill with low effort. Separates the hands early, long arm clean arm action with a lot left in the tank. FB peaked 76 MPH, CB ranged 61-64 MPH, and feel for a CH 72-74 MPH. The 2022 graduate is a must follow.
