Unsigned Senior Showcase (October 30, 2016)
Besko stands 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, up 5-pounds since the summer. Pitching- Quick pace to his delivery, gathers his weight over the rubber with some hip torque. Arm-action is long towards 2B with shoulder separation. Slight lean towards first-base creating an over-the-top arm-action appearance, however the slot is more mid-to-high 3/4. Shows pitchability with all three pitches, fastball sat 80-81, curveball 70-72 with 12/6 late depth, change up was 72-73 which he buried a few times.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Besko checks in at 5-foot-10; 165 pounds.  Pitching- Besko sets up center rubber with a belt high leg drive to his balance point; closes off towards 3B line with stride; slight collapse on front side. Some trail off to the 1B side with finish. Arm action breaks at the belt; working through a high ¾ arm slot. FB sat 77-79 MPH, a bit below where he was in live action during the spring (topped at 82 MPH). Battle around the zone; using CB (70-72 MPH) to work out of jams. Pitchability is there and showed the ability to work out of some tough spots by digging deep and throwing a quality pitch.
March 30, 2016
Slender RHP with a free and easy motion. Showed excellent command of his fastball and a curveball with just enough change of speed and bite to keep hitters off balance. Kevin pitched a dominant 2nd inning, relying on a 80-81 MPH fastball (topping out at 82 MPH) at the knees to strike out the side. He struggled a bit in the 3rd but dug in and got out of the inning, ending with two curveballs to strikeout the last batter to end the threat. Curveball was in the 71-72 MPH range. Kevin should have a solid season if he continues to develop his secondary pitches and his command.
