2.18.19

A physical 6-foot-1, 185 pounds projectable frame. Ran a 7.53 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box in a wide open stance. Simple load with a short stride to the pitcher. Displayed consistent hard contact during the hitting portion. Has power potential at the next level as he continues to develop. Exit velocity of 87 MPH.  Defensively- Setups up with a wide base and big target. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Quick release and smooth footwork. Pop time range was 2.02-2.06 and top velocity on throws to 2B was 72 MPH. The 2020 C is a must follow going forward.

Preseason West (Feb. 19, 2018)

Standing 6-foot-0, 165-pounds from a slender build. Offensively - At the plate, open stance with relaxed approach, back load for timing on the pitch, fluid swing path, uphill plane with full extension, low effort. 81 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively- receives from a wide stance, soft glove. Footwork is proper but slower, would benefit faster footspeed and transfer. Arm-strength was 71 mph with accurate throws to the bag. With added footspeed and arm-strength that number will get closer to the 2.0 range. Excited to see him this spring/summer.

Rochester (August 9, 2017)

Athletic 6-foot-0 164 pound catcher. Offensively- Even setup with a short and controlled leg keg kick as his hands work back. Slight barrel tip but he is able to command it. Stays behind the ball well as the lower half rotation is aggressive; natural lift to his pull side with a 2-handed finish. Easy, all around actions at the plate; repeats swing. Exit velocity peaked at 77 MPH. Defensively- Fundamental approach behind the plate; Compact, low to the ground setup. Gains ground with his footwork with a suitable transfer. Quiet receiver and quick to this feet when recovering ball in the dirt. Throws demonstrated carry at a peak velocity of 67 MPH with a pop time range of 2.06-2.13. High ceiling for the 2020 backstop.
