Physical: Lean and athletic 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame with advanced feel for his body in all phases of the game. 6.89 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Wide, even stance slightly weighted towards the backside with minor bend in the knees, the hands start high at the top of the head line with some rhythm. Utilized a leg-hang stride coupled with a slight downward hand movement above the shoulder for launch position to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Showcased the ability to be athletic and adjustable with the lower half in the box getting on plane extremely early and allowing for occasional lift to the LCF gap. Was able to hit pitches in any quadrant hard but lived primarily to the pull-side during batting practice; registered a top bat-exit velocity of 85 mph according to Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder featured rangy, easy movements in the outfield with downhill footwork at the fielding window. A soft glove hand approached the ball off of the right side of his body with advanced timing on the footwork. Quality catch and throw skills as the arm worked through a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm circle while showing accuracy towards the target. OF - 78 mph
Pitching: LHP - Side rocker step with a feel for a controlled and smooth delivery, gets directional towards the target from a comfortable stack position at the waist, the arm worked quickly through a high ¾ slot commanding a 78-81 T82 mph FB in the zone with slight arm-side run. Mixed in a short and tight breaking 63-64 mph CB with 1/7 shape and late depth.
Northern NY Preview (July 11, 2018)
Ingerson is a lean, wiry 5-foot-7 135 pounds who ran a suitable 7.12 60 and a 4.53 home-to-1B from the right side. Offensively- The RHH sets up in a spread stance with his front foot turned inward; some pre-pitch bat waggle with a short load. Balanced approach with a slashing bat path into the zone; stays flat through contact with line drive /average depth flyball results; exit velocity peaked at 68 MPH. Defensively- Stays behind the ball well; uses a side shuffle into a long arm action; quick release. A more assertive crow hop will allow for his body to be more involved. Arm strength was 64 MPH from the OF but more in the tank indicated by his FB on the mound. Pitching- Works from the arm side of the rubber; belt high leg drive with a long and loose arm action. Arm slot is low 3/4 with FB ranging 71-72 MPH. CB with some 10-to-4 break at 57-59 MPH.
