Physical: 5-foot-8, 150 pounds; Average, Proportional build. 8.24 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Loads straight back along with a knee knock leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a one-handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 85 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while being aggressive. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a while using various arm slots. 2.26-2.33 pop times. C - 67 MPH. INF - 70 MPH.
2/17/21
Physical: Compact, lean 5-foot-8, 150-pound frame with room to keep filling out as he matures. 8.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty started from an upright, open stance with the hands loose with rhythm out in front of the shoulder, got to a still position at load coupled with a leg lift stride in order to initiate the barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone. Showed lift after impact generating occasional loft in the swing, but mostly kept it on a line towards the LCF gap (33% line drive rate). Solid bat to ball skills present featuring length in the swing at times, hit behind the ball well throughout his batting practice round (81 mph peak bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball).
Defensively: The primary backstop flashed a low, narrow setup when receiving with adequate feel for the pocket; pop times ranged from 2.19-2.26 with noticeable pre-catch rhythm present; got the feet and hips in line in a hurry, transfers worked well, and let it rip from a fluid, high ¾ slot. Will record even better pop times with increased arm strength, though he increased his posture in the setup to a higher position on throw downs (66 mph) … The third baseman was active with the feet early in the route arriving on time to the baseball. Slightly stiff glove hand at times that funneled into the belt loop, played low to the ground assisting posture throughout the route, accurate 67 mph arm strength across from a high ¾ slot.

Consistent contact; pull-side gap for slight power. 72 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: Jump hop for timing; choppy footwork; fields the ball a little high; average glovework, but firm fielding wrist. low 3/4 arm slot; short arm swing. INF - 61 MPH.
