Physical: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds; stocky frame, broad shoulders. 7.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Wide feet with bend at the midsection, hands stay low with both elbows lifted; uses a leg kick to turn the hips, pushes the hands to the catcher as part of the load. Clears the hips on time and consistently, blocks transferred weight well off the front leg with long swing path, casts the arms and gets around the ball. Got out in front of the inside pitch and was able to pull it well in the air with some strength; peak Trackman exit velocity of 83 MPH.
Defensively: Starts with some athletic bend in the knees and feet just outside of shoulder width; moves well laterally, getting a good approach on the ball. He lets the ball travel to him but moves well through it. Stiff hands with a clean transfer to throw. Some delay in the throw with a long take away; Moderate arm swing from the glove, 3/4 slot with good hand speed. INF - 75 MPH.
Pitching: Repeatable mechanics with smooth timing and tempo down the mound, throws off a soft front leg. Loose, 3/4 slot with a moderate arm swing. FB: T 73MPH, 72-73 MPH. Struggled to find the zone at times missing arm side, FB was good down when he zoned it up. CB: 60-62 MPH. Tall, falling curveball that finds its way to the bottom of the zone very well. CH: 64 MPH. Changeup played well when thrown to the armside, showing some fade out of the zone.
