ENY Senior Day (October 20, 2018)

De La Rosa is a wiry but projectable 6-foot-3 155 pound RHP. Pitching- De La Rosa has a strong presence on the mound. He has effortless mechanics , high leg kick and long stride with a clean arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. He mixed in a three pitch mix FB, CB, and CH. Command waivered on this day but we have seen him more consistent. Improved velo will come with more physical strength and gains.

June 25-27, 2018 (NYS Games)

Peak Fastball: 82
Fastball Range:
78-80
CB/SL Range
: 71-72
Tall wiry body type with long limbs. Improved velo will come with more physical strength and gains. High leg lift then quick explosive drive to the plate. Tends to fall off to his glove side after landing point. FB shows some life/run out of hand and is deceptive with his shoulder tilt towards the target. Long arm take away with good whip action at the release. Arm slot is high 3/4. CB/SLD is hard down movement with late bite. Works from the stretch but has great energy to the plate. Shows great feel and confidence on the bump.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2018)
Stands from a lean wiry 6-foot-3, 155-pounds. On the mound he uses a quick pace to his delivery high knee lift, hands high around his head before separation as he drives towards home plate. Uses an uphill shoulder tilt with a long back clean arm action, no restrictions, throw some high 3/4 slot the long stride plenty of projection in his near future. fastball sat 78 - 80 mph with clear signs of more velocity in the tank, curveball shows late 12-5 shape 71 - 73 mph.
