In the second game of a 3 game series to decide the section 4 Class A title, The senior (R/R) senior threw a complete game and faced 32 batters, scatting 6 H, 1 2B, 3 R, 2 ER, 5 K, and 2 BB.   Hammond’s fastball was 82-84 and curve was at 70-71. A strong performance for Hammond who pitched the last 3 innings with a blistered fingered. At the plate, Hammond was 1 for 5, 1 K, 1 R.

Appeared to be one of the better overall players on the field. On the mound, compact delivery from his 5-foot-9 sturdy frame. Fastball sat 82-84 MPH most of the game with late action and commanded both sides of the plate. Shows an above average breaking ball in the low-70's, hard shape and threw it for strikes when needed and in the dirt as a strikeout pitch. He also looked very loose and comfortable in the batters box driving the ball in two of his three at-bats.
April 2018
The 2019 (R/R) came on in relief in the 7th and faced the minimum 3 batters, giving up one single and inducing a double play grounder to 2B.  Hammond’s fastball was 80-84 MPH and curve was at 70-72. A strong close for Hammond. At the plate, Hammond was 1 for 3, 1 BB, 1 R.
