Physical: 5-foot-9, 170 pounds; athletic, filled out frame. 6.71 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Just open on the front side with narrow feet, upright upper half; works into a toe tap to load the lower half while he wraps the bat around his head, turning his arms and upper body to load. Aggressive actions from the lower half, turns the hips with intent and creates separation in turn creating a coil effect in his swing with uphill bat path, keeps the hands higher than the bat and producing lift. Shot the ball up the middle frequently and also was able to push it the other way easily, uses a good middle/oppo approach; peak Trackman exit velocity of 82 MPH.
Defensively: Tall set up with some bend in the knees, walks into position; takes a prep step and then takes a direct route to the ball, attacks it on the right side and gets in a good direction to the target. Soft hands, uses his off hand to trap the ball in the glove making for a quick transfer to throw; throws from a loose, side arm slot that you typically see from a MIF. INF - 78 MPH.
Pitching: Works with good tempo on the mound, uses a double toe tap and fires down the mound. Throws off a soft front leg, firms up late after release. Throws from a low 3/4 slot with loose actions in the arm, very whippy through the zone. FB: Peak velo of 79 MPH, while sitting 77-79 MPH. Fills up the zone, has some ASR and would be best thrown in the bottom half of the zone to the right side of the plate, running the FB in on RHH/away from LHH. SL: 68-71 MPH. Flashed a SL with some glove side hook to it, would be a good early count pitch to keep a hitter off balance. CH: 70-72 MPH. Displayed a CH with decent downhill action as it approaches the plate.
