Strong looking frame, moves well enough for the position, fields off to his glove side, arm strength of 80 mph from the OF, quick arm action. At the plate he uses an open stance, quiet hands, with a slight toe tap. Gets bat head down on the ball on a short path. Above average bat speed with an exit velo of 91 mph.  Pitching- Mid 3/4 arm slot, tight leg kick in wind up, loose arm with late snap on 2 Seam FB.

Standing at 5-foot-9, 190-pounds with a strong thick lower half, Stutz had an overall excellent showing at our Preseason West event. Offensively, open stance with hands around head, relaxed and loose. On the pitch he uses a smooth back load, back elbow high, front stride, short and compact to the ball on a slightly inclined path. 92 mph exit velocity and showing strength to pull-side in BP. Defensively, moves in the OF with comfort, stays behind the ball with a quick transfer and solid arm with carry to the bag (80 mph). Ran a 7.27 60 showing signs of quickness. On the mound, he uses a simple side-step with pace to his tempo, above belt knee-lift with a slight coil for more momentum. Arm-swing is shorter and fluid, releases from a high 3/4 slot with a long stride and strong front-side. Fastball ranged 80-82 (peaked 83) working down in the zone with angle, ball jumps late. Shows feel for a 12/6 slow curveball (60-62) with proper spin. Stutz arm works easy out in front giving the impression there is more velocity to come in the future.

Stutz checks in at 5-foot-9, 190 pounds. Registered a time of 4.76 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Begins with a wide base with weight leaned over back leg. Hands are above back shoulder with a bat wiggle. Hands come down before loading backwards. Strides on toe and closed. Weight shifts forward throughout swing. Hands are direct to ball with a slightly uphill swing plane. High finish immediately after contact. Had an exit velocity of 80 MPH off of the tee. Defensively- Approaches ball athletically with long strides. Fields ball outside framework of body. Uses a step behind crow hop to generate power on throws. Had a positional throwing velocity of 80 MPH from the outfield. Pitching- Begins with feet at shoulder width towards first base side of rubber. Small side step to left as right foot pivots onto rubber. Knee lift comes just above waist as back turns slightly to plate. Average stride length that lands in line with home plate. Long, full arm circle on backside that gets slightly out of line behind body. Traditional ¾ arm slot with quick arm action and hand extension through delivery. Fastball was in the 76-78 MPH range, while his curveball was 65-66 MPH and changeup was 68-70 MPH.
