AJ Lefton: 2B/RHP, (2022) William Mason, OH. 5-foot-11, 150-pound lean frame. During batting practice, Lefton recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Started in an athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is average and shows a rotational swing plane. Athletic in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 78 mph; shows soft hands, a clean exchange, and athletic feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a quick arm action on his throws. On the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-79 mph; shows running action and arm side command. His 11/5 curveball (66-68) had gradual action. Had arm side control and fading action on his changeup (73-74).

Scouting Notes:Arm works/functionally athletic delivery. Arm works well through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball was live and breaking ball showed tight spin. Good hand speed on both offerings. Fastball is going to continue to gain velocity with maturity. As velo jumps expect breaker to become even sharper. Strike thrower.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Athletic movement patterns that create both balance and energy into launch. Impressive round showing feel for contact and the ability to backspin it to both gaps.
Power:Line drive guy with gap pop. More to come as he matures physically.

Field:In the infield he plays low and under control throughout sequence. Ball skills are on par for class. Sure-handed defender with a second baseman look to him.

Hit: Pre loaded approach with a level bat path throughout the zone. Average hand quickness.
Power: 78mph exit velo with a max distance of 207 feet.
Offensive Projection: Line drive pull side hitter.
Field: Shows fluid smooth footwork, transitions into a low ¾ arm slot.
Throw: 72mph infield velo.
Defensive Projection: MIF.
Delivery Notes: A dynamic lower half that is inline to the plate but could have a more firm front side. A lower ¾ arm action that has some explosiveness to it.
Fastball: 76-78mph with a 1700-1900rpm spin rate with slight arm side movement.
Curveball: 63-6mph with 1600-1800rpm spin rate. CB w/early action to break and depth with 11-5 movement.
Changeup: 69-70mph CH hits zone w/fade
