Adam Lippe: 1B/LHP, (2022) Uniontown Lake, OH. 6-foot-1, 210-pound. Solid during batting practice, Lippe's best exit velocity was 94 mph. (67.56 mph bat speed average). (20.37 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a small leg kick stride. Had above average bat speed, level rotational swing plane and level finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was registered at 79 mph; had a fluid clean exchange, soft hands, and athletic footwork. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had consistent accuracy to the bag with a long arm action. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.91.
Hit:Left-handed hitter that begins in an athletic, balanced stance. Physical frame, with a smooth, athletic loading sequence. Hands are loose, while the movements are explosive. Utilizes a small leg kick for timing and has good engagement of the lower half. The path is level through the zone, with natural flight up the middle of the field.
Power: Present Gap Abilities
Offensive Projection: Run Producer
Field:Worked out from the 1B position. Moves well, and ball skills are on par for class.
Throw: Sufficient arm strength
Defensive Projection: 1B
Delivery/Scouting Notes: 2022 out of Lake High School. Uses an up tempo delivery with a short, quick arm action that gets through the zone. Fastball showed quality sink, mixed with a gradual 11/5 breaking ball made for great deception.
Fastball: Has intent through the zone
Breaking Ball: Gradual looping breaking ball with 11/5 tilt, released from a ¾ arm slot
Changeup: Notable slowing down upon release, still shows good speed differential and depth to the pitch.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: The lefty pitching prospect offers an easy, fluid motion to the plate. Loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. The prospect brings a unique delivery that creates deception.
Fastball: 65-69. Some late movement into right handed hitters. Mid 90s low spin rate 1500-1700, average efficiency. Solid command and good feel for the primary pitch.
Curveball: 54-58. Early, gradual break at a 2/8 path. The breaker is mixed in well with solid command.
Changeup: 57-59. An above average third offering that is mixed well in certain counts. More development to come as he increases comfort with the pitch.
Pitchability: Average for his class, more development to come.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Small leg kick that works. Good feel in the box with loose and athletic hands to contact.
Hit: Level bat path that produces line drives to the pull side. Natural ball flight to the middle of the field.
Power: Flashed pop to the pull side. More to come as he develops and adds size.
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Field: Good athlete over at first base. Moves well off the bag and shows above average ball skills. Solid defender.
Throw: Arm fits the position.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
