6-foot, 170-pound prospect. Projects best as a pitcher. Repeatable delivery. Fastball sat 83-86 mph with some run to it. Mixed in a 70-71 mph breaking ball with good depth to it. Excellent changeup that he sells with good arm speed. Shows fade down into the zone. From the outfield, he shows good carry to his throws. Top velocity of 85 mph. Corner type. Still room to improve with his footwork. At the plate, he bars in his load. Slight uphill path. Small leg lift. Line drive production. 82 mph exit velocity.
7/29/13
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed pitcher with lanky, athletic frame. Has come into his own over the past eight months and continues to get better each time that we see him. Uses quick arm speed through high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat at 84 mph and reached up to 86 mph with some sink. Shows the ability to throw both off-speed pitches for strikes. Breaking ball sits at 67-69 mph with 12/6 action down in the zone. Also throws a 72-73 mph changeup. Sells the pitch well out of his hand.
2/10/13
5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect that projects best as a pitcher at this stage. His arm strength is his best tool at present. Reached a top velocity of 82 mph from the outfield. Needs to quicken exchange and improve footwork. At the plate, he shows a choppy rhythm to his swing. Tends to bar his arm and let his hands drift away from his body. Simplifying will help shorten the path of his swing. Still creates solid, line drive production and shows some strength in his swing (80 mph exit velocity). On the mound, the right-handed hitter uses short arm action. He sat in the low 80’s and touched up to 83. He uses a loopy 59-61 mph breaking ball. His best off-speed pitch is a 70-73 mph changeup thrown near fastball arm speed.
10/14/12
5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect. Has projection to be good two-shot player. Athletic with projection. On the bump, shows some balance in delivery with quick arm speed through upper 3/4 slot. Fastball showed some late life, ranging 79-82 mph. Needs to enhance off speed effectiveness. Showed little feel on curveball (62-65 mph) and change (69-71 mph, straight action). Ran 7.31 60 yard. Hits with open stance with high back side hand set. Doesn't square front side. Triggers hands from chest with flat bat plane. Does have good hand finish and gets lower body torque.
