A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+

Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Andy Amstutz: OF/SS, (2022) Kettering Fairmont, OH. 6-foot, 140-pound. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 84 mph. Begins in an open stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap. Bat speed was efficient, and had a level swing plane. He found some barrels in his rounds. Line drive approach. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 71 mph; had athletic footwork, a natural fluid exchange, and consistent hands. Athletic from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 70 mph; had soft hands, a natural exchange, and rhythmic footwork. When fielding he gathers the ball out front. Capable on the mound, used a ¾ arm angle and an compact arm action. Feel type pitcher who shows some effort. Tall balance point. Curveball (62-65 mph), changeup (66-68 mph), knuckle (65-65 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 74-76 mph.

1/20/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot and gets into his back hip fairly well. Fastball: Fastball was 67-71 mph and was true through the zone. Fastball Spin Rate: 1500-1700 Curveball: Throws a loopy overhand curve at 61-62 mph with minimal bite. Curveball Spin Rate: 1200-1400 Changeup: Changeup was 67 mph and true through the zone. Pitchability: Average feel for his three pitch mix. Needs to increase his arm speed on both of his secondary offerings.
1/20/20 Position Player Hit: Righty swinger that uses a slight back load to hands during short stride for timing. Level path with a rotational sequence. Displayed a comparable offering of strength and speed to hands. Worked through a middle back approach in BP. Power: Line drive popo. Offensive Projection: Much more to come. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 77 Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 132 Field: In the outfield he approaches the ball with smooth footwork. Plays under control too and through the baseball with more than adequate ball skills. Throw: Long, loose arm action that should continue to see velo gains as he matures physically.
