2/10/18
6-foot-3, 250 pound pitching prospect with a taller, sturdy frame showed a longer arm action out of a ¾ arm slot. Rodriguez produces a smooth tempo with good energy build up throughout his delivery leading up to release. Fastball was 77-79 mph at the knees consistently. His curveball had later break to it at 68-71 mph. Threw a splitter with great movement and locating ability at 68-71. Provides good intent with each throw and has a projectable arm. A right-handed hitter at the plate. A physical presence in the box. Load is fluid, repeatable and he shows advanced strength through the zone. Raw power is impressive, driving the ball with authority throughout BP. Ball explodes off bat. A third baseman who moves well laterally for frame. Ball skills are adequate at this age. Glove plays very well inside funnel but has room to develop more skill on the move.
60-yard dash: 7.72
Infield Velocity: 77
Exit Velocity: 88
6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect. 60-yard dash was a 7.92. At third base he moves light on his feet and fields the ball out in front of his body. Showed above average, 77 mph arm strength across the diamond. Would be aided by create angles with his footwork approaching the ball to play through it more efficient. A strong kid with a very fast bat through the zone. Keeps his weight on his back foot during his stride. Path is flat and the ball comes off his bat well. Would like to see him transfer weight into contact to let his natural power show. Top exit velocity was 74 mph.
