Austin Payne: 1B/RHP, (2026) Hamilton, OH. 6-foot, 195-pound physical build. (70.5 mph bat speed average). (19.9 mph hand speed average). Starts in a strong athletic stance with a smooth handsy load, then uses a short stride. Had explosive bat speed, simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Confident above average in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 81 mph; had fluid footwork, a clean natural exchange, and soft sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Some accuracy to the bag, used athletic slot and a short quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 8.24. Advanced on the mound, using a clean arm action he showed lightning arm speed from a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has even shoulder and strong balance point. Lands hard with an athletic recoil finish. (Max spin 2292; Avg 2145).
