Notes

7/06/20

Scouting Notes: Good mover on the mound. Efficient delivery with a clean arm. Showed the ability to repeat and has feel for all three offerings. Fastball moved around the zone effectively, changeup showed good sell and breaking ball has big action.
Fastball: 77-80mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1702-1799
Breaking Ball: 63-65mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1713-1730
Changeup: 71-72mph

1/20/20

Hit: Easy, fluid moves that come together well prior to launch. Swing is compact with quick hands and more pop than frame would suggest. Very solid round, spraying it all over the yard.
Power: Line drive with flashes of gap.
Offensive Projection: Table setter.
Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 81.4.
Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 280.
Field: In the infield he showed pretty good hands but waits on the ball a bit too much with average footwork.
Defensive Projection: 2B

1/20/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Like the actions on the mound. Quick pace, good athlete, arm works. Follow who almost certainly has more velo in the tank.
Fastball: Easier velocity. Sat in the mid 70s, topping at 77 mph. Some natural late life through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1900-2100
Curveball: 11/5, slurvish look to it. Has feel for the offering. 62-63 mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1200-1500
Changeup: One of the better ones we saw on the day. Deception / good sell. Quality action. 70-72 mph.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.

1/21/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-9 148-pound prospect with above average athleticism.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Moderate to quick tempo delivery with some deceptive qualities. Shows some looseness working out of a ¾ slot.

Fastball: 74-77 mph fastball is easy out of the hand with above average run to the arm side.

Curveball: 57-60 mph curveball has 11/5 action with good rotation and developing depth.

Changeup: 68-69 mph changeup is thrown with fastball like arm speed showing late fading action.

Pitchability: Shows command of a true three pitch mix. Breaking ball is still developing but should be a quality offering as it tightens up. Fastball has some life and showed command to both sides of the plate.

Role: Still too early to tell where this prospect will be best suited on a staff. If present command and stuff continue their current trajectories a starter or backend bullpen role wouldn’t be out of the question.

1/21/19
Body Type:

Swing Mechanics: Tall stance. Shows a slight back load with hands during short stride for timing.

Hit: Balanced swinger with an easy, compact stroke. Showed impressive feel for the barrel, spraying line drives all over the yard. Very productive BP.

Power: 68 mph exit velocity. Developing natural tools. Line drive guy with gap abilities ot come.

Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Run: 7.76 60-yard dash.

Field: In the infield he plays with direct, quick feet in his approach. Plays under control throughout process. Can get around the ball at times. Ball skills are on par for class.

Throw: 62 mph arm strength across the infield. Developing strength. High ¾ right-hander with longer arm action.

Defensive Projection: 3B/2B.

1/15/18

Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. In the outfield he uses controlled footwork prior to fielding. Plays two-handed through the baseball before getting into his crow hop. Threw to home plate with 70 mph arm strength. Arm is loose and projects for more strength as he matures physically. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses an easy back load during his short stride for timing. Swing is repeatable. Bat travels on a level plane, allowing him to square the baseball up consistently. A contact type guy at this stage with line drive abilities to both fields. Top exit velocity was 71 mph. On the mound the right-hander has nice rhythm inside an efficient delivery and good direction to the plate. Fastball comes out of a ¾ slot from a short arm action. At 69-71 mph the ball has occasional arm side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with developing depth with feel at 60-61 mph. Also flashed a changeup at 60-61 mph. The pitch is thrown with good arm speed and shows late sink at times.
