7/17/18 Stood out for hit tool. The type of physical, upside bat that will attract the attention of college coaches. Syncs up his bat tip/leg kick loading sequence well, creating energy and balance. Ball jumps, showing present power to the middle/pull side. Sluder has a chance to be dynamic if he twitches up. Launched moonshots in BP. Corner type in the outfield. Plays fast with confident actions. Arm is accurate with signs of more strength to come. Bat is top tool but adequate in the OF. Long limbed, lanky right handed arm that has a good pitchers build with room to develop physically. Rhythmic tempo to his delivery requiring regular effort with a slight inward turn at the top of his leg lift. Fastball has some life through the zone at 81-82 mph. Curveball is spun tight with good depth in 11/5 action at 71-72 mph. Changeup shows occasional cut at 75 mph while maintaining near fastball arm speed. Currently is a playable out pitch. Colleges in need of 2019s should take a look. Home to 1st: 4.37 Outfield Velocity: 77 Exit Velocity: 91
9/30/17 A two-prospect in the 2019 class. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. A physical left bat. Goes with a leg kick for timing and energy. Hands stay loose/simple prior to launch. Barrel works on a downhill path with strength standing out in swing. Would like to see him level out path to create more consistent backspin and let his above average natural tools go to work. Has definite upside at the plate. Registered an exit velocity of 91 mph. Looks the part in the outfield. Actions are athletic and he is mechanically sound. Takes efficient routes and has above average ball skills. Arm strength will need to improve moving forward but he possesses all the other tools to play out there at an above average clip. Brings projectability and athleticism to the bump. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Fastball will sit in the high 70s, topping at 80 mph. Showed off an above average breaking ball that has potential to be a very good offering down the road. The pitch moves on an 11/5 plane with signs of sharpness and depth at 64-66 mph.
